Brockton, also known as “the City of Champions” for its rich sports history, is a vibrant multi-cultural city in Plymouth County with a fairly large Cape Verdean and Haitian Diasporas residing in the city.
In recent years, however, with its population nearing 100,000 residents and its violent crime rate persistently rising, Brockton has been often labeled as one of the most dangerous cities to live in Massachusetts and even the United States. On any given day, the Brockton Police Department makes a number of arrests for such crimes as: drug possession and distribution; robbery; assault and battery; sex offenses; crimes involving firearms; as well as various property crimes ranging from shoplifting to breaking and entering.
As a former Plymouth County prosecutor, attorney Mikhlin is intricately familiar with the operations of all District and Superior Courts in Plymouth County. He is especially familiar with the County’s busiest court – the Brockton District Court. As an assistant district attorney, Sergey Mikhlin was a designated narcotics prosecutor in Brockton District Court, where his responsibilities included evaluating and grand jury screening of all drug cases that were arraigned in Brockton.
